Color Guard

Originally activated 20th July 1942 in New River, North Carolina 23d Marine Regiment would see several relocations before finding residence in February 1996 at San Bruno, California. Since arrival 23rd Marine Regiment’s Color Guard have been an active supporting force in the Bay Area community, performing numerous events throughout the year to honor the United States and her Colors.

Local city events, school functions, war memorials, as well as sporting events have been some of the many privileges 23d Marine Regiments Color Guard has had the honor of supporting.

The Color Guard is a four-person formation of marines in appropriate military uniform, who are charged with the handling, posting, and retiring of the Nations and United States Marine Corps Organizational flags while rendering the proper customs and courtesies. This honored tradition adds dignity to any event, while showing respect to our nation and those who have served.
