What Exhibitors Need To Know

 

Best of San Mateo! We are proud to support our 4-H and FFA youth as they bring their rabbits, chickens, turkeys, goats, lambs, pigs and steer to the San Mateo County Fair Farm for competition.

Livestock Competition Information

 

Important Dates

  • Market goat, market sheep and market hog pre-fair weigh in and tagging is March 31, 2018 from 3pm to 5pm
  • Mandatory Meeting for ALL new livestock exhibitors, ALL new parents/guardians and ALL project leaders/advisors is Wednesday March 28 or Monday April 2 at 7:00pm in The Meeting Pavilion
  • Entry deadline is April 9, 2018 by 5:00pm.
  • Fair Farm Shows daily throughout Fair – times tbd in Fair Schedule
  • Livestock Auction Saturday June 16th 7:30 am until close of auction - Lunch served for all buyers, Come early for a complimentary refreshments

Junior Livestock Excellence Scholarship In Honor of Mike Giannini

mike giannini

Mike was born and raised in Half Moon Bay, California. He attended and graduated from Half Moon Bay High School where he was a member of the high schools FFA program. He was also a past 4-H member. Mike was a strong supporter of the San Mateo County 4-H Livestock Program and the Half Moon Bay FFA. In honor Mike’s contributions to the San Mateo County Fair and his community is offering this scholarship in his honor and memory.

The John Kyne Award was inaugurated in 1974 in memory of John Kyne. The recipient of this prestigious youth award is selected based on their quality and diversity of exhibits throughout the Fair; demonstrated assistance with other exhibitors and department supervisors in the form of teaching, sportsmanship, leadership, attitude and cooperation; and their efforts and assistance given to the fair.
