2020 Floral Arts Information

Potted Plants, Cut Flowers, Arrangements & Crafts by Local Gardeners like you!

Flowers have always been a part of the San Mateo County Fair from the first fair in 1934. Amateur gardeners throughout the county and beyond still bring their favorite plants & blooms to compete for ribbons & prizes.

What is growing in your garden? Is your favorite houseplant looking especially lovely? Plant-lovers like you from all over the Bay Area—from age five to 95+ and ‘weekend dabbler’ to experienced ‘green thumbs’—are invited to enter and take part in our yearly celebration. Exhibitors come just before Fair opening to place their plants, cut flowers & designs for display. Fresh flower exhibits are also accepted once more during Fair week. This is a great opportunity to meet, chat & exchange information about plants with other exhibitors—an extra bonus.

Special exhibits offer many opportunities for creative use of plants. Amateur designers explore floral arrangements, both conventional and imaginative, while mini landscape creations bring a touch of whimsy.
